Job summary

Recruit Mint Ltd near Ely is seeking a hands-on Plant Technician to keep our renewable energy plant running. This outdoor role is outdoors 90% of the time, across plant areas, with a 4-on, 4-off 12-hour shift pattern, 6am–6pm, and duties including servicing, repair, installation, fault-finding and inspection.

You’ll need mechanical experience with motors, engines, conveyors and hydraulics, a full UK driving licence, and willingness to work at height in all weathers.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an all-round industrial or agricultural Plant Technician.
• Mechanical experience across motors, engines, augers, conveyors, gearboxes, pneumatics, hydraulics and valves.
• Strong background in service, repair, maintenance and installation.
• Solid fault-finding and investigation skills.
• Experience driving plant machinery.
• A full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out repairs and maintenance in line with the schedules set by the maintenance managers
• Performing service, repair, maintenance, installation, testing, inspection and fault-finding to a high standard
• Working on motors, engines, augers, conveyors, gearboxes, pneumatics, hydraulics and valves
• Working outdoors and at height across operational plant areas, in all weather conditions
• Operating plant machinery such as tele-handlers and forklifts, with training provided
• Keeping accurate maintenance records using company logging systems on a handheld tablet
• Working safely and to a high standard at all times, adhering to health and safety best practice
• Carrying out ad-hoc duties to keep the operation running smoothly

Plant Technician

This is a Plant Technician role with a growing renewable energy business near Ely, on a four-on, four-off shift pattern.

As a Plant Technician you will keep the plant and machinery running across a growing renewable energy operation, working on the equipment that turns organic waste into clean energy. It is varied, genuinely hands-on work, service, repair, maintenance, installation, fault-finding and inspection, on a four-on, four-off, 12-hour shift pattern. Be clear on one thing: this is an outdoor role, with up to 90% of your time spent outside across operational plant areas, often at height and in all weathers. If you are a practical, resilient technician who likes different problems every day and takes pride in keeping things running, no two days here will be the same.

Pay and Benefits

• A salary of up to £40,000 depending on experience
• A four-on, four-off, 12-hour shift pattern with overtime available
• 6am to 6pm
