Job summary

Heidelberg Materials UK is seeking a Plant Operative / Batching Plant Operator in Exeter. You will be responsible for safe, efficient batching plant operation to meet production targets while upholding safety, quality and environmental standards.

The role involves liaising with customers and office teams, loading materials, routine maintenance, and keeping the site clean and presentable. Training is provided, with opportunities for progression within a global group.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor the batching plant to ensure accurate production of concrete/mortar.
• Liaise with customers, plant teams and Order Office to meet production and delivery requirements.
• Load materials and operate plant equipment, including Front-End Loaders (FEL) where trained.
• Carry out routine inspections, maintenance checks and report defects promptly.
• Maintain stock levels and perform visual stock checks of raw materials.
• Ensure site and equipment are clean and well-presented; promote safety culture.
• Support environmental compliance by managing waste, water discharge and dust in line with procedures.
• Identify opportunities to improve plant performance, efficiency and site standards.
