Plant Shift Leader

Location: Fawley, Southampton (Commutable from Bournemouth, Portsmouth, Salisbury, Winchester)

Salary: £72,488 per annum (£60,119 basic + £12,369 shift allowance)

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

Shifts Pattern: 4 on 4 off (2 days, 2 nights, 07:00-19:00 & 19:00-07:00) - 12 days off every 6-week cycle

Key Responsibilities

• Safety Leadership: Promote a safe environment by managing Permits to Work and safety standards
• Operational Improvement: Analyze production reports and implement growth initiatives
• Equipment Maintenance: Conduct inspections, diagnose faults, coordinate repairs
• Leadership During Operations: Make decisions during abnormal conditions, ensure team safety
• Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with the central operations centre for supply and service
• Team Development: Coach shift team members to support their growth

Candidate Requirements

• Background in Mechanical or Electrical engineering, with an apprenticeship route preferred
• Relevant industrial or plant-based qualification
• Experience in a 24-hour operational environment, ideally in chemical or petrochemical sectors
• Proven leadership skills in operational support and planning
