Qualifications

• Assessor qualification (A1, CAVA or equivalent) required.
• Level 3 Award in Education and Training.
• Level 3 qualification in Horticulture, Plant Sciences, Countryside Management, or related subject.
• Level 2 English and Maths (or equivalent).
• Industry experience in horticulture or plant sciences.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and assess a range of plant science and horticulture programmes.
• Support learners through practical and theoretical training sessions.
• Provide timely assessment, feedback, and progress tracking.
• Deliver short industry-related courses, including NPTC and other qualifications.
• Provide tutorial and pastoral support to learners.
• Develop and maintain commercial horticulture activities for curriculum and commercial purposes.
• Support operation of commercial plant sales and community engagement activities.
• Collaborate with employers and partners to enhance learner opportunities.
• Assist in development and growth of plant science provision.
• Maintain planting areas, polytunnels, and land-based resources.

Our Client is seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Plant Sciences Teacher to join a busy and growing land-based curriculum team. This varied role combines teaching, assessment, commercial delivery, and learner support, with a particular focus on horticulture and plant science programmes.
You will work with learners across study programmes, apprenticeships, adult learning, and commercial training courses, helping them develop the practical skills, knowledge, and confidence required for successful careers within the sector.

About You

• Industry experience within horticulture or plant sciences.
• Assessor qualification (A1, CAVA or equivalent).
• Level 3 Award in Education and Training.
• Level 3 qualification in Horticulture, Plant Sciences, Countryside Management, or a related subject.
• Level 2 English and Maths (or equivalent).
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Knowledge of native and non-native flora and sustainable land management practices.
• Ability to inspire learners and support them to achieve positive outcomes.
