Job summary

Morgan Jones Ltd is seeking a knowledgeable Plant Sciences Teacher to join a busy land-based curriculum team in Rotherham. The role combines teaching, assessment, commercial delivery and learner support with a focus on horticulture and plant science.

You will work with learners across study programmes, apprenticeships, adult learning and commercial training courses, developing practical skills and knowledge for successful careers in the sector.

Qualifications

• Assessor qualifications (A1, CAVA or equivalent) required.
• Level 3 Award in Education and Training required.
• Level 3 qualification in Horticulture, Plant Sciences, Countryside Management or related subject required.
• Level 2 English and Maths (or equivalent) required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and assess a range of plant science, horticulture, apprenticeship, and adult learning programmes.
• Support learners through practical and theoretical training sessions.
• Provide timely assessment, feedback, and progress tracking.
• Deliver short industry-related courses, including NPTC and other recognised qualifications where appropriate.
• Provide tutorial and pastoral support to learners.
• Develop and maintain commercial horticulture activities, including growing and managing plants for curriculum and commercial purposes.
• Support the operation of commercial plant sales and community engagement activities.
• Work collaboratively with employers, industry partners, and stakeholders to enhance learner opportunities.
• Assist in the development and growth of plant science provision.

Education

A1 Assessor qualification (A1, CAVA or equivalent)

Level 3 Award in Education and Training

Level 3 qualification in Horticulture / Plant Sciences / Countryside Management

Level 2 English and Maths

About You

• Industry experience within horticulture or plant sciences.
• Assessor qualification (A1, CAVA or equivalent).
• Level 3 Award in Education and Training.
• Level 3 qualification in Horticulture, Plant Sciences, Countryside Management, or a related subject.
• Level 2 English and Maths (or equivalent).
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Knowledge of native and non-native flora and sustainable land management practices.
• Ability to inspire learners and support them to achieve positive outcomes.
