Job summary

Morgan Jones Recruitment Consultants is seeking an Assessor in Plant Sciences to join a busy land-based curriculum team in Rotherham. The role combines teaching, assessment, and learner support across horticulture and plant science programmes.

You will work with learners across study programmes, apprenticeships, adult learning and commercial training, helping them develop practical skills and knowledge for successful careers in the sector.

Qualifications

• Industry experience in horticulture or plant sciences required.
• Assessor qualifications (A1, CAVA or equivalent) essential.
• Level 3 QAE/T level qualification and Level 3 horticulture subject required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and assess range of plant science and horticulture programmes.
• Support learners through practical and theoretical sessions.
• Provide timely assessment, feedback and progress tracking.
• Deliver short industry-related courses including NPTC where appropriate.
• Provide tutorial and pastoral support to learners.
• Develop and maintain commercial horticulture activities for curriculum and commercial purposes.
• Support commercial plant sales and community engagement activities.
• Collaborate with employers and industry partners to enhance learner opportunities.
• Assist in growth of plant science provision and maintain planting areas.
