Job summary

Stericycle in Ballymena is seeking a motivated Plant Operator to support daily receipt, treatment and disposal of clinical waste, ensuring high plant availability and productivity in line with procedures and legal requirements.

You will unload vehicles, manage waste containers, coordinate deliveries, operate forklift if required, participate in shutdowns, and maintain accurate records while following all health and safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Unloading of vehicles and trailers (site specific).
• Manoeuvring waste on the plant and weighing containers.
• Ensure waste containers are emptied, cleaned and stored for collection.
• Coordinate paperwork and reception of deliveries to the plant, including suppliers and contractors.
• Oversee safe handling into containers by the deliverer when loose waste is delivered.
• Operate forklift truck if required.
• Participate in plant shutdowns as necessary.
• Maintain operational records and data specific to the job function.
• Draw attention to major defects or problems to management.
• Work under the directions of the Shift Supervisor and Plant Manager during breakdowns or stoppages.
• Observe and comply with all safety notices and signs; work safely at all times.
• Attend training courses or instruction as required.
• Additional duties to ensure safe compliance and continuation of operations.
