Job summary

TRADEBE in Swindon is seeking a Plant Operator to support the plant's daily operations, including loading/unloading, equipment operation, and adherence to safety procedures.

The role requires a valid FLT licence where applicable and basic PC literacy. You will work across shifts, following site permits, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• FLT licence required or preferred.
• PC literate and able to operate standard software.
• Knowledge of a continuous processing plant.

Responsibilities

• Support the efficient operation of the plant and loading/unloading of vehicles.
• Operate plant and equipment according to site permits and SOPs.
• Carry out operational checks and planned maintenance per schedules.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards and safe working practices.
• Collaborate with Supervisor to identify and resolve issues.

Shift Pattern: 4o4o Days and Nights

Working hours: 6am-6pm and 6pm-6am

Your Responsibilities

Health & Safety

• Always carry out your duties safely and in full compliance with site procedures and legislation.
• Wear the correct PPE at all times while on site.
• Immediately report any safety concerns, hazards or issues to your Supervisor, Team Leader or Site Management.
• Report all near misses, accidents, incidents and non-conformances promptly and accurately.

Operations

• Support the efficient operation of the plant by maintaining appropriate loading rates and seeking guidance from your Supervisor or Team Leader when required.
• Assist with the loading and unloading of vehicles to ensure safe and efficient turnaround times.
• Load and unload trailers and containers as instructed.
• Work collaboratively across the site, supporting other areas of the operation when required.
• Operate plant and equipment in accordance with site permits, consents and operating procedures.
• Complete all required operational checks and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in line with schedules.
• Work with your Supervisor or Team Leader to identify and resolve operational issues, using initiative where appropriate.
• Ensure all 770-litre bins are washed, cleaned and maintained after each use.
• Maintain a high standard of housekeeping across the site, including removing litter and keeping work areas clean and safe.
