Job summary

MWH Treatment are seeking Plant Operators for Oswestry on the United Utilities framework under a contract basis. You will report to the Lead Site Supervisor and ensure safe, efficient operation to specification and schedule.

Responsibilities include monitoring plant processes, setpoints and analysers, maintaining logs, ordering chemicals, and assisting with shutdowns as part of the Advance Plus team and client liaison. CSCS is essential, with proven water/construction experience.

Qualifications

• CSCS card is essential.
• Experience as a plant operator in water sector construction.
• Proven delivery of schemes with a strong safety focus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the new plant processes on a daily basis.
• Track operation parameters (MLSS, SSVI, effluent analyses, sludge thickener performance, chemicals).
• Monitor equipment (oxidation ditch inducers, blowers, instruments, ferric, caustic, sludge thickeners).
• Recalibrate analysers and order reagents; adjust process parameters to maintain performance.
• Report to Advance Plus process commissioning engineer; liaise with client, suppliers and project team.
• Attend regular meetings with UU on progress and performance; maintain daily logs.
• Order chemicals and receive deliveries; assist Advance Plus team during shutdowns.

MWH Treatment are looking for Plant operators for Oswestry on the United Utilities framework on a contract basis.

You will report directly to the Lead Site Supervisor and your role will carry out site activities in the most efficient manner, to the specification and within the contract time without risk to the health and safety of all concerned and providing a quality product to the client..

Key responsibilities will include:

• Responsibility for process monitoring of the new plant
• Daily monitoring of the process operating parameters (MLSS, SSVI, final effluent analyses, sludge thickener performance, sludge, chemicals)
• Daily monitoring of equipment (oxidation ditch (inducers, blowers, instruments, ferric, caustic, sludge thickeners, etc)
• Monitoring of analysers, recalibration of instruments, ordering of reagents
• Adjustment of process parameters to maintain performance
• Reporting to Advance Plus process commissioning engineer
• Consultation with client, suppliers and Advance Plus process team
• Regular meetings with UU re progress, performance, etc
• Daily logs
• Ordering of chemicals as required (including ferric, caustic, poly, reagents, cuvettes for sampling analyses)
• Taking deliveries of chemicals
• Assisting Advance Plus team with shutdowns, access, etc
