Position Purpose:

Assist in the day-to-day operation of the plant, including receipt, treatment, and disposal of clinical waste, to maximize plant availability and productivity in accordance with operational procedures and legislative requirements.

Key Job Activities:

1. Unload vehicles and trailers (site specific).
2. Manoeuvre waste effectively on the plant and weigh containers.
3. Ensure waste containers are emptied, cleaned thoroughly, and stored in a suitable 'empty' area for collection.
4. Coordinate paperwork and reception of all deliveries, including those from suppliers and contractors.
5. Oversee safe handling into containers by deliverers, especially for loose waste.
6. Operate forklift truck if required.
7. Participate in plant shutdowns as necessary.
8. Maintain operational records and data relevant to the job.
9. Report major defects, concerns, or problems with equipment or the building to management.
10. Assist the Shift Supervisor and Plant Manager during breakdowns or controlled stoppages.
11. Observe safety notices and signs, ensuring work is carried out safely at all times.
12. Attend job-specific training courses or instructions as required.
13. Perform additional duties necessary for safety and operational continuity.
14. Comply with health & safety procedures.

Education and Experience:

• Self-motivated, reliable, and enthusiastic.
