Job description

Here at The Mick George Group, we are looking for Plant Operators/Labourers to join the team at our Mayton Wood site.

Job Overview:

To operate plant and machinery to assist with the retrieval of minerals and profiling of ground to the required level.

Any other duties required in the day-to-day running of the quarry/landfill as deemed necessary by a site supervisor/manager.

Responsibilities:
  1. Carry out daily/weekly maintenance checks of the mobile & fixed plant to the necessary standard.
  2. Perform maintenance tasks such as greasing and cleaning the equipment.
  3. Report any defects noted to site management/workshop using the R2C app.
  4. Control and dispatch the quality of product, following plant GPS to alter ground levels as required.
  5. Carry out any other duties related to the quarry as requested by a supervisor/manager.
  6. Accurately record working hours on timesheets and submit weekly.
  7. Log all production data, plant stoppages, breakdowns, and logs correctly.
  8. Inform quarry management of any materials deemed unsuitable for production.
  9. Understand company procedures related to breakdowns to act swiftly and minimize downtime.
  10. Highlight any training requirements to line management, especially for legislative minimum requirements.
  11. Conduct oneself in a manner that does not endanger oneself or others.
  12. Maintain a professional demeanor as an ambassador of Mick George Group.
  13. Keep the site clean to minimize hazards.
  14. Maintain regular contact with site management.
Skills/Qualifications:
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Experience on Dozer, 360 Excavator, or Dump Truck (minimum 5 years).
  • A hard-working nature.
  • Experience with GPS (machine control).
