Here at The Mick George Group, we are looking for Plant Operators/Labourers to join the team at our Mayton Wood site.
Job Overview:
To operate plant and machinery to assist with the retrieval of minerals and profiling of ground to the required level.
Any other duties required in the day-to-day running of the quarry/landfill as deemed necessary by a site supervisor/manager.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out daily/weekly maintenance checks of the mobile & fixed plant to the necessary standard.
- Perform maintenance tasks such as greasing and cleaning the equipment.
- Report any defects noted to site management/workshop using the R2C app.
- Control and dispatch the quality of product, following plant GPS to alter ground levels as required.
- Carry out any other duties related to the quarry as requested by a supervisor/manager.
- Accurately record working hours on timesheets and submit weekly.
- Log all production data, plant stoppages, breakdowns, and logs correctly.
- Inform quarry management of any materials deemed unsuitable for production.
- Understand company procedures related to breakdowns to act swiftly and minimize downtime.
- Highlight any training requirements to line management, especially for legislative minimum requirements.
- Conduct oneself in a manner that does not endanger oneself or others.
- Maintain a professional demeanor as an ambassador of Mick George Group.
- Keep the site clean to minimize hazards.
- Maintain regular contact with site management.
Skills/Qualifications:
- A full UK driving licence.
- Experience on Dozer, 360 Excavator, or Dump Truck (minimum 5 years).
- A hard-working nature.
- Experience with GPS (machine control).
