Pretoria Energy Company Ltd. is seeking a motivated Plant Operator to join our growing team in Cambridge.

This hands-on role focuses on ensuring the anaerobic digestion plant operates safely, efficiently, and at peak performance, contributing to the production of renewable energy for homes and the national grid. Full training will be provided, offering a clear path for career progression within one of the UK's fastest-growing energy sectors.

Qualifications

• Industrial, production, agricultural or similar hands-on experience.
• Confidence using computers and working with mechanical equipment.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Ability to commute within approximately 30 minutes of Ely.
• Own transport.

Responsibilities

• Monitor plant operations through visual inspections and PLC control systems.
• Make adjustments to optimise plant performance and efficiency.
• Carry out routine maintenance and operational checks.
• Record operational data and complete daily reports.
• Support environmental monitoring including digestate and drainage systems.
• Assist with loading, unloading and general site operations.
• Operate plant equipment and machinery where qualified.
• Support the Engineering Team with maintenance and repairs.
• Follow Health & Safety procedures at all times.

Hours: 4-on / 4-off, 12-hour shifts (6am / 6pm) Days and Nights

About the Plant Operator role:

This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same.

You'll play a vital role in ensuring our anaerobic digestion plant operates safely, efficiently, and at peak performance, directly contributing to the production of renewable energy and reducing environmental impact.

Full training will be provided, making this a fantastic opportunity for candidates looking to develop new skills and progress within the sector.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Monitoring plant operations through visual inspections and PLC control systems

What We're Looking For

In order to be successful in this role you must have experience with:

• Industrial, production, agricultural or similar hands-on experience
• Confidence using computers and working with mechanical equipment
• Full UK driving licence
• Right to work in the UK
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude
• Ability to commute within approximately 30 minutes of Ely
• Own transport

It would be great if you had:

• Tele-handler or Forklift experience/licence
• Previous Anaerobic Digestion experience
• Renewable energy or process plant experience

We are also happy to consider suitably qualified candidates who may have less experience but can demonstrate the right attitude, aptitude, and willingness to learn.
