Position Purpose:

Assist in the day-to-day operation of the plant for the receipt, treatment, and disposal of clinical waste, ensuring maximum plant availability and productivity according to operational procedures and legislative requirements.

Key Job Activities:

• Unload vehicles and trailers (site-specific).
• Manoeuvre waste on the plant and weigh containers effectively.
• Ensure waste containers are emptied, cleaned thoroughly, and stored in a suitable ‘empty’ area for collection.
• Coordinate paperwork and reception of all deliveries, including suppliers and contractors.
• Oversee safe handling of loose waste into containers during deliveries.
• Operate forklift if required.
• Participate in plant shutdowns as necessary.
• Maintain operational records and data specific to the job.
• Report major defects or concerns to management prior to action.
• Assist the Shift Supervisor and Plant Manager during breakdowns or controlled stoppages.
• Observe safety notices and ensure work is carried out safely at all times.
• Attend training courses as required.
• Perform additional duties to ensure safe and continuous plant operations.
• Comply with health & safety procedures.
