We are seeking a Plant Operative to support and assist the Shift Supervisor in the production of silver from waste products. The role requires multitasking and carrying out various aspects of the process from incineration to cupellation.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with your Supervisor to ensure each shift runs smoothly
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the business
• Contribute ideas and strategies to support growth
• Collaborate with the site production teams
• Assist the SHE Manager in building a better H&S culture

Job Purpose and Responsibilities

• Train and become competent in all aspects of production (Blast Furnace, Cupel, Rotary)
• Assist in all production activities as required by your Supervisor
• Perform general housekeeping duties
• Ensure the effective and efficient operation of relevant plant
• Liaise with Supervisors and Managers as needed
• Serve as a site First Aider
• Adhere to environmental and permit standards at all times
• Report accidents and near misses
• Follow health & safety procedures, wearing appropriate RPE/PPE
• Be willing to act as an H&S representative and site champion

Qualifications

• Previous foundry experience is advantageous
• Knowledge or experience working with molten metal
• Health & Safety conscious, willing to champion H&S on the shop floor
• FLT certification is advantageous
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Quick thinker with initiative
• Positive, 'can do' attitude
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced production environment
• Flexible and reliable
• Willingness to train on multiple pieces of plant
