Job summary

RenEco is seeking a hands-on Plant Operations Engineer to join our expanding renewable engineering team. You will support the Senior Plant Supervisor across AD plant operations, biogas upgrading, CO2 liquefaction and BioLNG production, and work with SCADA systems to keep the plant safe and efficient.

The role operates on a 4 on/4 off, 12-hour shift pattern (nights included) and involves routine maintenance, equipment checks and responsive action to alarms.

Qualifications

• Experience with mechanical maintenance and plant equipment.
• Working knowledge of SCADA/control systems is advantageous.
• Experience driving mobile plant (FLT/cherry picker) preferred.
• Comfortable working outdoors on rotating shifts; Health & Safety aware.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day shift operations across AD, biogas upgrading, CO2 liquefaction and BioLNG production.
• Carry out routine rounds, monitor equipment, and report findings.
• Utilize SCADA to monitor and control plant processes.
• Assist with food waste depackaging and raw material preparation.
• Respond to alarms and deviations with first-line onsite actions.
• Perform hands-on mechanical tasks and maintenance with tools.

Job Overview

To align with RenEco’s growth strategy we have a fantastic opportunity for a Plant Operations Engineer to join the team, reporting to and supporting the Senior Plant Supervisor. Working on the plant, you will assist with shift operations across our AD plant, biogas upgrading, compression, CO2 liquefaction and BioLNG production, including food waste depackaging and raw material preparation. Alongside using the site's automated SCADA systems, you will be hands‑on with mechanical tasks using tools and equipment to help keep the plant running safely and efficiently. This role operates a 4 on 4 off, 12-hour shift pattern (including nights).

Main Duties

Operations

• Work on the plant supporting the Senior Plant Supervisor with day‑to‑day shift operations across the AD plant, biogas upgrading, compression, CO2 liquefaction and BioLNG production
• Carry out routine plant rounds, monitoring equipment condition and process performance, and reporting findings to the Supervisor
• Use the site's automated SCADA systems to monitor and support control of the plant
• Assist with food waste depackaging and raw material preparation
• Respond to alarms and process deviations, taking appropriate first‑line action onsite

Maintenance and Troubleshooting

• Carry out hands‑on mechanical tasks and repairs using hand and power tools across all plant areas, including material reception and preparation, AD, gas upgrading and BioLNG systems
• Assist engineers with troubleshooting process mal‑performance and equipment faults
• Support planned preventative and reactive maintenance activities across the plant
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance, inspection and rounds activities

As a Plant Operations Engineer you will be a support for the Senior Plant Supervisor, helping to keep operations running safely and efficiently.

The Person

We are looking for a pro‑active, hands‑on individual with mechanical aptitude and experience using tools to carry out plant maintenance and repair tasks. A working knowledge of SCADA or control systems would be advantageous, as would experience driving mobile plant such as FLTs or cherry pickers. You will be comfortable working outdoors and across a rotating shift pattern, and will have a sound understanding of Health & Safety legislation and requirements of the industry.
