Job summary

GAP Group is seeking a hands-on Plant Mechanic to service and repair our fleet of diggers, dumpers, and tools. You will work at the depot and occasionally on customer sites, ensuring equipment is safe, reliable, and ready to hire.

We value practical problem solving, attention to detail, and a proactive approach. Training is provided, with real opportunities for career progression in a growing equipment hire business.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a mechanical role; full training will be provided for plant hire.
• Experience with diesel engines would be highly beneficial.
• A full, valid driving licence is preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and maintaining a wide range of plant and tool equipment within the GAP fleet
• Diagnosing faults and completing repairs efficiently to minimise downtime
• Accurately updating service records and ensuring compliance with safety standards
• Occasionally attending customer sites to carry out repairs and maintenance
• Supporting the depot team to ensure equipment availability and customer satisfaction
