Hales Group are assisting with a manufacturing site vacancy for an experienced Site Supervisor/Manager. The role focuses on safe, efficient day-to-day site operation, contractor oversight and logistics across a manufacturing site in Ipswich.

Ideal candidates will have NEBOSH certification, proven leadership in industrial environments and a strong track record in safety compliance, budgeting and operational excellence. Salary is £45,000 per annum and typical weekday hours apply.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description

Hales Group are working with their client, who are offering a great benefits package, to assist them in finding an experienced Site Supervisor or Manager to take responsibility for the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of their manufacturing site. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in industrial or manufacturing environments who can lead site operations, manage health & safety, oversee contractors, and ensure logistics run smoothly.

Hours

Monday to Friday | 7.30am - 5.00pm | Spring Season | 6.00am - 6.00pm | No Weekends

Salary

£45,000 Per annum

Duties Include:

• Lead all site Health, Safety and Environmental activities, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
• Implement environmentally sustainable practices, reduce waste, and optimise resource use.
• Develop and manage the site's operational budget, ensuring cost control and efficient resource use to meet financial targets.
• Manage contractor activities, including inductions, risk assessments, method statements and permit-to-work systems.
• Ensure all maintenance, engineering and project work is completed safely and in accordance with site procedures.
• Conduct regular safety audits, inspections and investigations, implementing corrective actions as required.
• Take responsibility for site security, facilities management and overall site standards.
• Coordinate site logistics, including deliveries, dispatches, vehicle movements and storage operations.
• Resolve operational and logistical issues to minimise disruption and maintain business continuity.
• Monitor site performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, safety and cost effectiveness.
• Manage and develop site personnel, promoting a positive and proactive working environment.
• Ensure all site documentation, permits, compliance records and reports are maintained accurately.

What Will You Bring:

• NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent essential.
• Previous experience managing operations within an industrial, chemical, engineering, bio-chemical or oil & gas site, either as a supervisor or manager
• Strong Health & Safety knowledge with experience managing permits, contractors and compliance.
• Experience coordinating site logistics and resolving day-to-day operational challenges.
• Confident managing multiple priorities within large site.
• Strong leadership, communication and decision-making skills.
• Experience leading safety initiatives and fostering a positive safety culture.
