Job summary

Altera Recruitment Group is supporting a specialist renewable energy business in Leicestershire to recruit a Mechanical-Biased Multi-Skilled Technician for a biomass power plant. The role spans planned and reactive maintenance across mechanical and electrical assets within a heavy process environment.

You will work with an established operations team, perform preventative maintenance, contribute to plant improvements, and use CMMS to manage records.

Qualifications

• Time served or Level 3 qualified in Maintenance Engineering with a multi-Skilled bias.
• Minimum 4 years' maintenance experience in a heavy process environment.
• Strong mechanical maintenance experience with sufficient electrical knowledge.
• Experience planning, scoping or delivering small-scale maintenance projects and using CMMS platforms.
• Knowledge of steam systems, water treatment or pressure and lifting equipment regulations would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment including pumps, gearboxes, motors, valves, panels, instrumentation and controls.
• Complete planned preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance, inspections and condition-based monitoring.
• Support plant upgrades, modifications, maintenance projects and outage planning and execution.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records through the site CMMS and ensure suitable spares are available to support plant performance.
• Work safely and in accordance with site procedures, maintenance strategies, statutory requirements and industry best practice.

Mechanical Technician

Altera Recruitment Group is supporting a specialist renewable energy business in the appointment of a Mechanical-Biased Multi-Skilled Technician at a modern gasification power plant in Leicestershire.

This is an opportunity to join an established operations and maintenance team supporting the safe, reliable and compliant operation of a biomass power generation facility. The successful candidate will carry out both planned preventative and reactive maintenance across a range of mechanical and electrical assets, while also supporting plant improvements and maintenance projects.

The role would suit an experienced multi-Skilled maintenance technician with a strong mechanical bias and a background in a heavy process environment such as power generation, Energy from Waste, waste treatment, chemicals, refining or steel.

Key Responsibilities of the Mechanical-Biased Multi-Skilled Technician

What's on Offer

• Salary up to £42,500 per annum.
• Working 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 7:30am-5pm.
• Call-out charge & overtime pay.
