Job summary

Doocey Group is seeking a field-based technician to inspect, service and repair plant machinery and LGV vehicles in a workshop environment. The role focuses on safe, compliant operation, with proactive maintenance, accurate records and adherence to Health & Safety policies.

You will diagnose hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical faults, complete job cards and help prepare equipment for deployment. A full UK driving licence is essential; LGV/HGV licence is desirable.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent in heavy vehicle or plant maintenance.
• Iretec accreditation is desirable but not required.
• Full UK driving licence is essential; LGV/HGV licence desirable.

Responsibilities

• Service, inspect and repair plant and LGV vehicles.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical faults.
• Complete preventative maintenance inspections.
• Prepare vehicles and plant for operational deployment.
• Complete job cards and maintenance records.
• Maintain a clean and organised workshop.
• Support breakdown and recovery activities.
• Assist with refurbishment projects and major repairs.
• Attend mandatory training and record CPD.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies and procedures.
• Call out based on a rolling rota.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Experience maintaining plant machinery and/or LGVs.
• Excellent communication, organisation and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
