Plant Improvement Engineer

Reporting to the Senior Reliability Engineer, the Plant Improvement Engineer will work as part of the maintenance department to implement and maintain engineered solutions for our production and maintenance teams, aiming to increase plant safety, availability, performance, and equipment reliability.

Your responsibilities:
  1. Support the development and implementation of best-practice engineering and process safety standards across the business.
  2. Collaborate with a nominated Production Manager to identify key areas for engineering and EHS improvements.
  3. Analyze data from OEE, CMMS, and asset reliability programmes to pinpoint areas for engineering enhancements.
  4. Utilize Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to systematically identify causes of downtime, inefficiency, and waste to improve OEE.
  5. Apply Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) to identify the true root causes of system or process failures.
  6. Use Management of Change (MOC) to ensure engineering modifications are safely implemented and compliant with standards and procedures.
Requirements for the role:
  • BEng degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline, preferably with a chemical or mechanical focus.
  • Some industry experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with computerized systems and engineering software packages.
  • Knowledge of Permit to Work systems and control of works.
  • Understanding of Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
