Job summary

Wild Bio is seeking a Research Associate to join the plant genotyping team. You will perform hands-on molecular biology at the bench and contribute to computational analysis of genotyping data, supporting pipelines across crops like wheat and soybean.

The role focuses on wet-lab work, primer design, and running analysis pipelines in Linux environments, with collaboration across multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in biology or related field with hands-on lab experience.
  • Strong wet-lab molecular biology experience, esp. nucleic acid extraction and PCR.
  • Experience designing primers for genotyping or molecular assays.
  • Linux/Unix command-line proficiency for data analysis.
  • Familiarity with bioinformatics tools and data analysis workflows.
  • Collaborative team member with initiative and curiosity.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the Plant Genotyping team's genotyping of crops.
  • Prepare materials and perform routine lab tasks including extractions and PCR.
  • Run genotyping pipelines and command-line analysis of sequencing data.
  • Design and validate primers/probes for assays.
  • Maintain and develop analysis scripts and pipelines.
  • Collect and analyse genotyping data; keep ELN records up to date.
  • Follow SOPs and support process improvements; participate in meetings.
