Job summary

Wild Bio, based at Milton Park in Oxfordshire, is seeking a Scientist to lead the expansion of genome editing technologies for crops. You will drive innovation across editing toolkit design, promoter selection, and transformation interactions, establishing new modalities in target crops.

This cross-functional role places you at the forefront of plant genome editing, building next-gen tools rather than maintaining an existing pipeline. Excellent collaboration and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• PhD in plant molecular biology, plant genetics, plant science, or a related field.
• Proven track record developing genome editing technology with publications or patents.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical roadmap for the genome editing toolkit.
• Lead the design and testing of new editing methodologies including HDR- and prime editing.
• Collaborate with scientists to validate editing designs in crop cell systems.
• Partner with transformation scientists to optimize editing designs and delivery methods.
• Scout emerging editing technologies and recommend adoption or deprioritization.
• Develop editing methods with product delivery in mind within regulatory frameworks.
• Define success criteria and go/no-go points for technology projects.
