Job summary

The Best Connection is seeking an experienced Plant Fitter for our workshop near Goole, with hours Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm and weekend pre-auction coverage. You will service, maintain, and repair a range of plant and machinery, diagnosing faults and ensuring safe, high-standard workmanship.

Full UK driving licence and proven mechanical experience are essential, with qualifications or apprenticeships in mechanics preferred. The role promises stability and progression in a growing business.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence
• Previous experience in a Plant Fitter or similar mechanical role
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems
• Ability to diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safe working practices
• Relevant mechanical qualification or apprenticeship
• Experience working with construction equipment, agricultural machinery, or commercial vehicles

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance, inspections, and repairs on plant and machinery
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic faults
• Complete all work safely and in line with company procedures
• Ensure high standards of workmanship are maintained at all times
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and workshop procedures
