Job summary

Speedy is seeking a Plant Engineer to take overall responsibility for inspection, testing, maintenance and repair of plant hire equipment in the region. You will work with other engineers in the depot and regularly liaise with drivers and the hire desk team to prioritise repairs and maintenance.

The role offers flexible working arrangements, including job shares and amended hours, with a strong focus on work/life balance under Speedy’s initiatives.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to test and repair plant equipment to the highest standard.
• NVQ Level 2 or City & Guilds equivalent in a relevant discipline.
• Technical/engineering background is desirable.
• Flexible approach to working hours.
• Support ESG Strategy implementation within the business unit.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, maintain and repair plant hire equipment in the region, ensuring safety and compliance with Speedy safety standards.
• Collaborate with engineers in the depot and liaise with drivers and the hire desk team to prioritise repairs and maintenance.
