Job summary

Johnsons Workwear is seeking a Plant Engineer to maintain and service plant, buildings and equipment across the site, ensuring reliability, efficiency and site safety.

You will respond to breakdowns, perform planned maintenance, and work to BS EN ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 instructions while keeping accurate maintenance records and supporting daily site operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance of industrial plant and facilities.
• Knowledge of BS EN ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 is preferred.
• Ability to work across mechanical, electrical and building systems.

Responsibilities

• Attend to mechanical, electrical, plant, equipment, and building-related issues as they arise.
• Carry out safety checks and statutory testing as required.
• Start up and shut down processing plant, equipment, and facilities safely and efficiently.
• Deliver a planned preventative maintenance programme to ensure optimum equipment performance and minimal downtime.
• Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities where required.
• Undertaking ad-hoc duties as required to support site operations.
• Respond to breakdowns and minimise downtime.

Job description

We are currently seeking a Plant Engineer to provide effective maintenance, repair, and servicing of plant, buildings, and equipment across the site. This role is critical in ensuring equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and site safety.

The role

As a Plant Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining the smooth operation of plant and facilities, responding to breakdowns, and carrying out planned maintenance to minimise downtime.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Attending to mechanical, electrical, plant, equipment, and building-related issues as they arise
• Carrying out safety checks and statutory testing as required
• Starting up and shutting down processing plant, equipment, and facilities safely and efficiently
• Delivering a planned preventative maintenance programme to ensure optimum equipment performance and minimal downtime
• Carrying out duties in line with BS EN ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 local working instructions and the Company Operations Manual
• Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities where required
• Undertaking ad-hoc duties as required to support site operations
