Job summary

Gel Engineering Ltd. is seeking a Plant Driver to support GEL Plant management with deliveries between Station House, GEL Plant, and site locations. The role involves vehicle checks, loading/unloading, and maintaining accurate delivery notes.

Responsibilities include optimising routes, coordinating with sites, and ensuring timely arrivals while complying with health and safety guidelines. A Full UK driving licence and strong customer service are essential.

Responsibilities

• The driver will service the deliveries from Station House to GEL sites.
• Deliver plant from GEL Plant to site and site to GEL Plant.
• Deliver all plant & asset items from workshop.
• Determine the most efficient route for deliveries based on traffic patterns, time constraints, and other factors.
• Maintain contact with Station House to ensure that all deliveries arrive within specified timeline.
• Perform routine maintenance on vehicles, including checking fluids and tyre pressure, and complete daily checks.
• Load and unload cargo, as well as operate forklifts and other equipment used for heavy lifting.
• Follow safety regulations related to cargo loading and unloading operations.
• Ensure all documentation is up to date and accurate, such as delivery notes.
• Follow a company policy regarding drug and alcohol use while driving.
• Communicate with sites about delivery status.
• Keep track of fuel usage and refuelling vehicles when necessary.
