Job summary

Shorts Group Ltd is seeking a maintenance technician to service and repair a range of plant including screeners, excavators and tractors. The role involves keeping accurate records and supporting pre-hire paperwork, with on-site inductions for customers.

The candidate will work across the fleet, ensuring workshop standards, health and safety, and compliance with relevant regulations. Overtime may be required to cover breakdowns and busy periods.

Qualifications

• Diagnostics and repairs across plant and vehicle systems.
• Knowledge of electrical/electronic systems and hydraulics.
• Welding and fabrication experience is a benefit.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and maintenance/repair of screeners, excavators, tractors, ancillary machinery and trailers.
• Record keeping of maintenance and pre-hire paperwork.
• Maintain depot workshop and health and safety compliance.

Job description

• To maintain fleet of screeners/crusher and prepare for hire including screen changes. Will be required to induct customers with machines on site.
• Maintain and service fleet of excavators form 3 to 20 ton as per manufactures recommendation.
• Service and maintain fleet of agricultural machinery and trailed appliances.
• Attend breakdowns
• Maintain parts stock and advise manager when parts are required.
• Ensure depot workshop is kept clean, tidy and complies with all relative legislation
  

Person Specification

• Highly capable in diagnostics and repairs of all different aspects of plant and vehicles.
• Knowledge of electronic s/vehicle electrics and hydraulics.
• Experience in welding and fabrication a benefit.
• Must be able to keep accurate records of machine maintenance and pre hire paperwork.
• Flexible approach to overtime and allocated tasks.
• Ability to learn new products and understand them.
• High regard to health and safety and the correct process
