Job summary

Wirral Council is seeking a Planning Validation Officer to check and validate planning applications and related submissions. You will liaise with customers, calculate fees, and support decision-making processes. The role offers hybrid working and a commitment to training and development.

Experience in planning is desirable, with Town Planning degrees welcomed but not essential. A proactive, detail-oriented administrator with IT and customer service skills will thrive in this team.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Planning department desirable but not essential.
• Recent graduates from related disciplines welcome.
• Understanding of Development Control and planning system helpful.

Responsibilities

• Receive and check new planning and related applications for required information.
• Ensure compliance with national and local validation requirements and fees.
• Liaise with customers to obtain missing information and handle enquiries.
• Prepare written correspondence on planning permission decisions.
