Job summary

Essential Employment in Walsall is seeking a Planning Technician to validate and register planning applications, ensuring compliance with planning legislation and local policies. The role covers reviewing plans, calculating planning fees, and providing technical support to applicants and the public.

You will assist with Planning Committee meetings, Local Land Charges/CON29 searches and maintain case management systems, delivering efficient admin and technical support across Development

• Validate and register planning applications, ensuring compliance with planning legislation and local policies.
• Review plans, drawings, reports, and calculate planning fees.
• Provide technical advice and support to applicants, developers, architects, and the public.
• Support Planning Committee meetings and prepare presentation materials.
• Process Local Land Charges and CON29 searches.
• Maintain accurate planning records, databases, and case management systems.
• Assist with planning appeals, consultations, and discharge of conditions applications.
• Deliver efficient administrative and technical support across Development Management and Planning Services.
