Publica Group Ltd in Coleford, Forest of Dean, is seeking a Planning Support Officer to join our Planning Services team on a permanent basis. This hands-on role supports planning applications and helps ensure accurate documentation and smooth processes.

You will register applications, liaise with applicants and council colleagues, handle fees and refunds, and maintain records. A customer-focused mindset, GCSE maths/english, and good IT skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Qualifications equivalent to NVQ level 1 or GCSE in Maths and English.
• Understanding of the issues affecting Planning.
• Ability to deal with professionals and the public in a customer oriented service.
• Good level of IT skills and willingness to learn new IT systems.

Responsibilities

• Registering planning applications and checking plans for accuracy.
• Liaising with applicants, consultees and Council Members for proper assessment.
• Handling application fees, payments, receipts and refunds via phone and email.
• Maintaining accurate internal records and data.
• Supporting colleagues across the service as needed.
