Southwark Council offers a Team Leader in Planning Policy role within the Planning and Growth Division. The role involves supervising a diverse team, contributing to policy, conducting research, and gaining experience towards RTPI accreditation. There is an opportunity for a Team Leader in Planning Policy in the Planning and Growth Division. The Policy team writes policy, conducts research, monitoring, partnership working, and collaborates with consultants, as well as working on the Local Plan.
Suitable candidates should demonstrate knowledge of planning policy and design considerations, particularly an understanding of strategic planning issues, how to interpret them simply, and how to translate complex issues into development management policies. The position requires candidates who are keen to suggest ideas for improvements and change. This role is part of a planning team with training and opportunities to gain experience across the Planning Division, working towards RTPI accreditation.

You should have a specialist knowledge of planning policy, a good understanding of urban planning, and a customer-focused attitude.
