Barnsley Council is seeking a Development Assistant to support Planning Policy in preparing, reviewing and delivering the borough's Local Plan. The post emphasizes ICT systems, GIS and cross-team collaboration to drive planning policy and growth.

Qualifikationen

• Experience of working in planning policy, spatial planning or related work area would be valuable.
• Substantial experience of working with business ICT systems and standard applications including Microsoft Office.
• Analytical, report-writing and research skills.
• The ability to communicate confidently with a wide range of audiences.
• A collaborative approach and the ability to build effective working relationships.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to handle and process considerable amounts of manual and computerised information.

Aufgaben

• Supporting the preparation, progression, implementation and monitoring of Barnsley's new Local Plan.
• Supporting the development and management of IT solutions including GIS and MS365 packages to drive Local Plan preparation and monitoring.
• Contributing to the preparation of evidence studies, consultation material, reports and policy documents.
• Supporting the production of statutory monitoring reports to agreed data quality standards.
• Working collaboratively with officers, councillors, communities, developers, infrastructure providers and neighbouring authorities.
