Job summary

Triumph Consultants is seeking an experienced Planning Officer (Development Management) to manage householder and minor planning applications, pre-application enquiries and related appeals in a hybrid role based in Walsall. The contract runs for 3 months with 37 hours per week.

The role requires practical planning experience, knowledge of planning law, and a relevant degree or equivalent experience, plus a driving licence. Expect on-site visits and on-site meetings two days a week.

• Good knowledge of planning law, with strong report-writing, plan-reading and customer communication skills.
• A planning-related degree or equivalent relevant experience, plus a full driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload from site visits, consultations, negotiations and decisions, meeting statutory and local deadlines.
• Prepare clear reports and correspondence, maintain complete case files and represent the Council at meetings, case reviews and appeals.

Planning Officer (Development Management)
Pay Rate: £25.27 per hour PAYE
Hours per week: 37, Monday-Friday, standard working hours
Contract length: 3 months
Location: Walsall
Hybrid - 2 days per week on site, including Tuesdays
