Job summary

Burberry is seeking a Planning Manager, Inventory Planning to shape Burberry’s global inventory strategy and lead Open to Buy planning across regions and channels. You will combine commercial insight, financial planning and cross-functional expertise to support informed decisions throughout the product lifecycle.

You will influence inventory optimisation, protect margin and drive sustainable growth while guiding a Planner and fostering collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • Substantial experience in global inventory or merchandise planning.
  • Strong knowledge of Open to Buy management, inventory productivity, stock turn, margin planning and forecasting.
  • Confident communication and presentation skills, with the ability to turn detailed analysis into clear recommendations for senior stakeholders.
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to build effective relationships across Finance, Merchandising, Planning, Replenishment and Supply Chain.
  • Sound judgement, analytical capability and close attention to detail, combined with a practical approach to solving business challenges.
  • Experience supporting the development of others and creating an inclusive, accountable and forward-thinking team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Own global and regional Open to Buy planning across full-price stores, digital, outlet and wholesale, ensuring inventory and productivity assumptions support commercial priorities.
  • Develop a long-term global inventory strategy across the product lifecycle, translating financial and commercial objectives into clear plans.
  • Prepare and present Open to Buy recommendations to senior leadership, communicating complex analysis in a clear and compelling way.
  • Partner with Finance, Merchandising, regional teams, Replenishment and Supply Chain to align revenue, procurement, margin and inventory targets.
  • Identify sales, margin and inventory risks, recommending rebalancing, markdown and delist actions that improve sell-through and reduce exposure.
  • Lead, coach and develop a Planner while encouraging collaboration, knowledge sharing and talent development across the planning community.
