The role

We are currently recruiting for a Planning Manager within our consulting division to work on several built environment projects. In this role, you will manage the planning and monitoring of projects throughout all project stages. You will work with the operations team to develop the most efficient project methodology and execute the timely delivery of a project. You will identify any rectification actions required and influence the parties responsible to complete these actions.

What will you do?

  1. Develop the project plan, programme and planning report in accordance with Lendlease planning procedures
  2. In conjunction with the project team, develop the preconstruction and construction methodology to enable the most efficient and effective delivery of the project
  3. At agreed regular intervals report project progress against the contract and delivery programmes
  4. Support the project team in the creation and statusing of medium and short range programmes
  5. Produce a weekly project dashboard to provide weekly updates on progress and key issues
  6. Act as the project conscience and the project directors right hand man advising on critical issues and strategy as appropriate
  7. Assist in chairing the weekly planning meeting to coordinate project programmes, progress update, delay records and key forthcoming milestones
  8. Review change proposals for time impact
  9. Assess and record time impacts of delays – Event Analysis
  10. Record as built production rates and delays to provide benchmarking for future projects
  11. Facilitate project team understanding and ownership of the plan and programme

You will bring

  1. Good understanding of construction methodology and building technology
  2. Good understanding of pre-construction processes and procurement methods
  3. An appreciation of the primary forms of construction contracts and the key commercial terms
  4. Proven ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, stakeholders and senior management
  5. Ability to produce reports and diagrams to convey proposed sequences and methodologies
  6. Working knowledge of P6
  7. Knowledge of CPA planning techniques and project controls
  8. Must have NEC contract experience
  9. Experience of the specific industry sector to which the project relates
  10. Strong Excel (use of formulae, pivot tables etc) and PowerPoint skills
