This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced planning professional to take ownership of planning applications from submission through to determination, playing a key role in securing successful planning outcomes across a growing portfolio of residential developments.
The business currently has five applications submitted, with two expected to be determined this year and a further four planned for submission over the next six months. With a strong pipeline of opportunities and sites typically comprising 60–70 units, this is an exciting time to join the business.
The role sits between the Land and Technical functions, providing an opportunity to work closely with colleagues across both disciplines and contribute to the progression of new development opportunities.
As Planning Manager, you will take responsibility for managing planning applications throughout the decision making process, coordinating consultants to ensure applications progress efficiently and achieve successful outcomes.
Key responsibilities will include:
The successful candidate will have experience in a planning role, ideally gained within a residential developer or house builder, consultancy also considered. Experience working on the developer side would be particularly advantageous, as would an understanding of the commercial considerations involved in residential development schemes. RTPI accreditation is advantageous.
You will be confident managing applications, coordinating consultants and taking responsibility for driving the planning process forward. The business is looking for someone who can work autonomously, make informed decisions and take ownership of their workload, while knowing when to involve colleagues and stakeholders.
You will also be comfortable working across different teams, bringing a balanced and considered approach to discussions and helping colleagues reach practical, commercially sound decisions.
Above all, this is an opportunity for someone who wants to take ownership of their role, make a meaningful contribution and develop alongside a growing residential business.
Offering a competitive salary c£50,000–£60,000, depending on experience plus package, bonus and hybrid working.
