Job summary

Mace is seeking a Planning Manager for its Mobility team in Immingham to support port expansion projects. You will ensure projects are well planned, scheduled, and monitored, working on site 2-3 days per week and collaborating with clients and internal teams.

The role demands extensive planning experience in infrastructure, strong commercial sense, leadership of large teams, and a proactive approach to sustainability and safety across the programme.

Qualifications

• Membership in professional bodies (APM/RICS/CIOB/ICE/AACE/IRM/IEMA) or equivalent.
• Extensive experience planning complex infrastructure projects and programmes.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen; experience with stakeholder management.
• Proven leadership of large, diverse teams and cross-functional collaboration.
• Knowledge of carbon/sustainability considerations shaping project outlook.
• Strong P6 experience for scheduling and monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning across projects, ensuring they are effectively planned, scheduled and monitored.

The project

Our Mobility team is expanding and we have an exciting opportunity for a Planning Manager to join our team in Immingham to be part of a Port Expansion project. As Planning Manager, you will support the Planning function in ensuring projects and tenders are effectively planned, scheduled, and monitored. You will be required to work on site 2-3 days per week.

You’ll Be Responsible For

• Possessing expertise in local Health and Safety rules and regulations relevant to project portfolio.

• Supporting the long-term success of Planning performance for specified engines/sectors/hubs, and the overall contribution to the broader company goals.
• Supporting the Planning function in ensuring projects and tenders are effectively planned, scheduled, and monitored.
• Supporting senior management in negotiations, contract development and other business development, ensuring that due diligence is applied.
• Supporting the long-term development of strategy for a function or business unit (BU), creating a sustainable business future.

You’ll Need To Have

• Membership of APM, RICS, CIOB, ICE, AACE, IRM, IEMA or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
• Extensive experience in the successful planning of projects and programmes in the infrastructure sector.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen.
• Leadership and management experience of large, diverse teams.
• Experience of managing relationships with key senior stakeholders.
• Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
• Strong P6 Experience.
