Project context

Our client is the utilities provider in the South-East geographic area. Their purpose is to deliver services in an environmentally sustainable, economically beneficial, and socially responsible manner and create sustainable long-term value for all.

As the Quality Manager, you will work within capital delivery, and you will work with project teams in a collaborative environment interacting positively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. You will be responsible for the simultaneous delivery of a number of water and water recycling projects and/or programmes within their AMP8 programme. The role will ensure our clients project governance procedures are followed including risk, cost and change control and will work collaboratively with other teams across the business to deliver projects.

Accountable for the planning function, ensuring effective scheduling and monitoring of projects and tenders. Implements planning and project controls procedures across portfolios, driving consistency and excellence. Oversees planning for complex projects and business units, delivering robust strategies aligned with organisational objectives.

Please note: This role will be required to work in Peterborough 3 days per week.

You’ll Be Responsible For
  • Managing planning performance, ensuring effective scheduling and delivery.
  • Driving strategic direction, influence business development, and uphold Mace values.
  • Mentoring and develop teams, fostering collaboration, innovation, and talent growth.
  • Managing planning, scheduling, and project controls for complex programmes.
  • Providing strategic advice, analysis, and corrective actions to stakeholders.
  • Driving team leadership, performance management, and talent development.
  • Supporting business development and champion sustainability, including net zero goals.
You’ll Need To Have
  • Membership of APM, RICS, CIOB, ICE, AACE, IRM, IEMA or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
  • Proven expertise in planning complex projects and programmes.
  • Strong commercial acumen and stakeholder management skills.
  • Knowledge of sustainability and carbon considerations.
