Location:Remote/Hybrid working available (Council HQ: Oxfordshire)
Hours:Full-time preferred (37 hours/week), flexible working considered
Team:Legal Services, reporting to Senior Solicitor
The Role
You will play a key role in providing high-quality legal advice and services in planning law matters, including:
Drafting legal agreements and policy advice
Supporting planning-related litigation and inquiries
Advising on highways, environment, and development matters
Training officers and attending committee meetings
Managing your own caseload with minimal supervision
Requirements
CurrentPractising Certificate(Solicitor, CILEX Lawyer, or Barrister – England & Wales)
At least1 year PQE, ideally more
Strong knowledge ofPlanning Law(and related fields such as Environment, Highways, Local Government Law)
Local authority experiencestrongly preferred
Ability to meet deadlines, manage competing priorities, and provide concise, accurate legal advice
Desirable
Familiarity with local government governance processes
Confident advocacy and committee support experience
