Job summary

Electus Recruitment Solutions is recruiting across several permanent planning positions for a major UK engineering construction programme, including Lead Planners, Principal Construction Planners and Planning Engineers. Strong P6 planning and M&E/HVAC knowledge are essential.

The role is home-based with three days per week onsite in Bridgwater; travel and site expenses are paid, plus an onsite bonus for site attendance. Sole British nationals are required and security vetting will be undertaken.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Primavera P6 planning and scheduling experience.
• Strong Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC, MEP or MEH construction knowledge.
• Experience planning construction, installation, testing or commissioning activity.
• Understanding of programme logic, dependencies, progress, forecasting and critical path.
• Experience within complex engineering, construction, infrastructure or comparable major-project environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6.
• Coordinate planning activities with engineering, procurement and construction teams.
• Analyse dependencies, progress and critical path to forecast performance.
• Support engineers moving into planning careers via engineering-to-planner route.

Construction Planner / Engineer - M&E / HVAC

£60,000 - £95,000 + onsite bonus + expenses

Permanent | Home-based contract | 3 days per week onsite in Bridgwater

We are recruiting across several permanent planning positions supporting a major UK engineering construction programme.

There are opportunities for experienced Lead Planners, Principal Construction Planners and Planning Engineers as well as technically strong Mechanical, Electrical or HVAC engineers who want to move into project planning.

The common thread is technical understanding.

This is not a generic Planning, Project Controls or reporting role. The programme needs people who understand the Mechanical, Electrical and HVAC work sitting behind a schedule and how complex construction, installation, testing and commissioning activities fit together.

What we are looking for:

For experienced planners, you should bring:

• Hands-on Primavera P6 planning and scheduling experience
• Strong Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC, M&E, MEP or MEH construction knowledge
• Experience planning construction, installation, testing or commissioning activity
• Understanding of programme logic, dependencies, progress, forecasting and critical path
• Experience within complex engineering, construction, infrastructure or comparable major-project environments

Direct experience in a highly regulated environment would be useful although strong transferable technical construction planning experience will also be considered.

Engineer-to-Planner route

• We are also interested in experienced Mechanical, Electrical and HVAC engineers who understand project delivery and would like to develop into a planning career.
• You do not need an established Planner title or extensive P6 experience for this route.
• You will need strong practical engineering knowledge plus an understanding of sequencing, dependencies, work packages, installation, testing, commissioning and project delivery.

Working arrangements

The employment contract is home-based with three days per week onsite in Bridgwater.

Travel and site-related expenses are paid. There is also an additional recurring onsite bonus for the required site attendance.
