Job Role: Planning Engineer
Location: Derby

Navartis are sourcing an experienced P6 Planning Engineer with experience in the Rail / Civil Engineering sector. The individual will be confident in their abilities and will lead to future promotions as they expand the planning team. This company has had huge successes in the last few years with a small company, personal feel and over £120million worth of orders to complete in the coming months you get the best of both worlds.

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop, maintain, and monitor detailed project schedules for civil infrastructure works.
2. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure timelines and budgets are met.
3. Identify potential risks to project delivery and provide solutions to mitigate delays.
4. Prepare and present progress reports to stakeholders, including key milestones and performance metrics.
5. Assist in resource allocation and tracking of project costs to ensure optimal use of time and budget.
6. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards throughout project phases.
7. Work closely with the commercial manager overseeing 25 - 35 smaller projects and 10 Major works.
8. Use of Primavera P6 & Microsoft Projects.

Experience Required

1. Proven experience as a Planning Engineer in the civil infrastructure sector.
2. Strong knowledge of project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
3. Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with a keen eye for detail.
4. Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external clients.
5. Degree in Civil Engineering or related field (preferred).
6. Strong understanding of construction processes, timelines, and risk management.

Desirable Knowledge, Skills & Experience

1. 5+ Years using Primavera P6 or ASTA.
2. Career motivated and wanting a long-term development role.
3. Knowledge of Civils, Rail, Heavy Engineering.
4. Strong negotiation skills with internal and external teams.
5. Proactive individual who can work on multiple jobs of different scales.
