Planning Engineer

As a Senior Planner you will be responsible for:
- Leading the Planning function with key interface to the other business units/planners.
- Leading, mentoring, and coaching the team on schedule prioritisation and scope availability.
- Develop, control, monitor, analyse and report on schedule related aspects for the designated project.
- Establish and monitor resource loaded, logic linked, baseline plan(s) for the project in accordance with project and corporate processes.
- Capture project budgetary costs and resources in the plan to determine time phasing of expenditure and the total project budget.
- Maintain and control project baselines in line with client’s procedures and guidance.
- Ensure the reasons for, and the factors influencing each change to the project’s baseline plan and the implications of such change are understood and communicated with the wider project team.
- Assist the lead planner with EVM (Earned Value Management) evaluation and practice within the project schedules.
- Challenging schedule and cost variances against the baseline plan and wider portfolio.
- Regular interfacing and integration with the project controls team to maintain an aligned portfolio by means of the Project Plan(s).
- Discuss and review plans with management and other stakeholders to identify priorities for construction and communicate the strategy.
Who we're looking for
- Experience across the project lifecycle (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation/Commissioning processes)
- Civil/Mechanical focus
- Excellent Primavera (P6) knowledge and experience
- Experience in building cost and resource loaded plans
- High level of numeracy and excellent analytical skills
- Experience / understanding in the interpretation of estimating, scheduling, programming and risk tools that exist in the Project Controls market.
- Experience / understanding of Earned Value Analysis
- Relevant experience in Project Controls and/or Project Delivery, preferably in a highly regulated environment.
- Ability to interact confidently with a project team
