Matchtech are seeking an experienced Senior Planner to join a major infrastructure programme at Hinkley Point C, Somerset, focusing on MEH installation scopes within a highly regulated environment. This is not a scheduler or junior role.

You will develop and maintain complex schedules, coordinate interfaces between contractors and delivery partners, and provide programme leadership across multiple stakeholders. EPC delivery expertise in the UK is essential.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Planner to join a major infrastructure programme, supporting the planning and delivery of complex Mechanical, Electrical and HVAC (MEH) installation scopes within a highly regulated environment.

This is not a role for a scheduler or junior planner. We're looking for a true planning professional who can hit the ground running, challenge where necessary, coordinate complex interfaces, and provide meaningful programme leadership across multiple stakeholders and delivery partners.

This is a permanent position working 4 days a week on site at Hicnkley Point C in Somerset with 1 days at home.

The Role

Working within an integrated project team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining complex schedules across major MEH installation activities. You'll play a key role in coordinating interfaces between contractors, disciplines, and stakeholders to ensure efficient project delivery.

You will bring a strong understanding of EPC project delivery, integrated planning methodologies, and project controls technologies, alongside the confidence to operate autonomously within a demanding project environment.

What We're Looking For

• Highly experience with major engineering, infrastructure, energy, oil & gas, or nuclear projects.
• Proven experience planning Mechanical and Electrical installation scopes.
• Strong understanding of major mechanical works including:
  • Pipework installation
  • Mechanical erection
  • Construction and commissioning activities
• Experience coordinating multiple project interfaces and stakeholders.
• Practical knowledge of EPC delivery models within the UK.
• Experience applying integrated planning frameworks on large-scale, complex programmes.
• Ability to proactively identify issues, drive solutions, and influence project teams without requiring constant direction.
• Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.

Highly Desirable Background

We are particularly interested in individuals who have:

• An Oil & Gas background transitioning into major infrastructure or nuclear projects.
• Previous site-based experience in delivery, supervision, or project management before moving into planning.
• Experience on large-scale installation projects involving significant mechanical scope.
• Experience working across multiple contractors, partners, and delivery organisations in complex project environments.

Essential Software Experience

• Primavera P6 - Advanced scheduling and programme management.
• Synchro - 4D planning and modelling.
