Job summary

Halton Borough Council in Cheshire is seeking a Planning Enforcement/Development Management professional to join the Planning and Development Management team. You will deal with enforcement cases, process planning applications and associated consents, and lead Section 106 negotiations to secure planning obligations.

The role supports policy development, helps deliver the Local Plan, and provides guidance to junior colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Deal with a range of Enforcement cases and process planning applications and associated consents, Section 106 negotiations, professional analysis and appraisal, policy formulation and with planning appeals.
• Prepare instructions to solicitors seeking the service of enforcement notices under the Town and Country Planning Acts, in line with best practice, to ensure the effective resolution of the case.
• Assist with the rolling out of programmes of continuous improvement, identifying good practice and innovation and to provide guidance to junior team colleagues.
