Job summary

Babergh District Council and Mid Suffolk District Councils are seeking Planning Enforcement Officers to join the Planning Enforcement team in Ipswich. You will investigate planning concerns, carry out site visits and determine breaches while engaging with residents, businesses and developers to resolve issues.

Roles include progression through training and development and opportunities for permanent or secondment arrangements.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree or certificate in planning enforcement.
• Sound understanding of planning legislation and enforcement practice.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Investigate planning concerns and identify breaches of planning legislation.
• Carry out site inspections and assess developments.
• Draft enforcement notices and gather evidence for legal proceedings.
• Provide clear guidance to residents, businesses and developers.
