Job summary

Essex County Council’s Place Services is seeking a Planning Consultant to deliver planning services for Essex and England, including development management, policy advice, SEA/SA and local plan evidence.

The role requires graduate level technical knowledge, ability to engage diverse audiences, and mobility across the operational area. A driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.

Qualifications

• Educated to at least a Bachelor’s level with professional experience.
• Evidence of CPD incl. RTPI Licentiate Membership.
• Knowledge of development management, planning policy, legislation and enforcement.

Responsibilities

• Deliver planning services for a range of schemes and consultations.
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary responses and prepare evidence documents.
• Assist with Local Plans, SEA/SA and policy viewpoints.
