Job summary

A leading international law firm in Glasgow is seeking a Senior Planning, Consenting Energy & Infrastructure professional to join their extensive Planning & Environment Team. This role involves advising on notable energy projects, requiring strong planning experience and knowledge of key planning legislation. The position offers flexible working arrangements from either Edinburgh or Glasgow.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years PQE with extensive planning experience.
  • Strong understanding of Electricity Act 1989 and relevant planning acts.
  • Candidates qualified in Australia or New Zealand considered.

Job Description:

We are currently collaborating with our client, an international law firm, on a Senior Planning, Consenting Energy & Infrastructure role within the firm’s Planning & Environment Team.

The team is one of the largest dedicated planning teams in the UK, overseeing major projects across sectors such as infrastructure, energy, and real estate. The role involves advising on high-profile energy projects, including offshore wind, solar, interconnectors, pipelines, carbon capture, nuclear, energy networks, and infrastructure.

Applicants should have a minimum of 3 years’ PQE with extensive planning experience, preferably within large regional or national practices. A strong understanding of the Electricity Act 1989, the Town and Country Planning Acts, and the Planning Act 2008 is highly desirable. Candidates qualified in Australia or New Zealand will also be considered.
