NG Bailey Group Limited is seeking a Senior Planner to lead the planning on a Defence project in Reading. The role involves producing practical programmes, weekly updates and monthly progress dashboards to meet contract requirements.

Key tasks include integrating planning meetings, maintaining baselines, monitoring progress, and reporting to stakeholders. You will work closely with site teams and the client and may participate in bid activities, with security clearance as a potential requirement.

Qualifications

• Experience in planning on medium to large MEP construction projects.
• Construction site experience required.
• Proficiency in Primavera scheduling tool.
• Relevant industry or professional qualification or apprenticeship.
• Ability to obtain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Ensure planning activities comply with contract obligations, internal processes and applicable laws.
• Arrange and facilitate integrated planning meetings with stakeholders to develop the plan.
• Participate in bid activities as required.
• Develop and agree a contract baseline programme with project personnel and client.
• Maintain and update the baseline with changes and communicate to stakeholders.
• Ensure progress and productivity are monitored against the plan and produce clear stakeholder reports.
• Produce planning outputs/reports for contract reviews and support operations in achieving targets with corrective actions.
• Perform time/risk analysis against programmes with planning manager and project manager.

Job description

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Planner to join our team to work on a commercial Defence project in Reading. The main purpose of the role is to drive the planning function on this project and produce workable realistic and efficient programmes of work which meet an appropriate standard for the contract conditions and both internal and client requirements. Monthly progress submissions, dashboard creating for reporting and weekly updates will be staple tasks in this role. Key deliverables in this role are:

• Ensure that all planning related activities are carried out in compliance with contractual obligations, internal processes and external legislation governing business operations
• Arrange and facilitate integrated planning meetings, engaging with all relevant stakeholders to develop and agree the plan
• Participate within bid activities as required
• Work closely with relevant project personnel and external customer in order to produce/ agree a contract baseline programme for each allocated project
• Maintain and update contract baseline in line with any agreed contract changes, ensuring changes are communicated to all stakeholders
• Ensure that progress and productivity is effectively monitored against project plan, produce clear reports for all stakeholders
• Ensure that planning outputs/reports are produced for contract reviews. Support the operational teams in order to ascertain whether project targets are being achieved and jointly establish and agree any corrective measures where necessary.
• Perform time/risk analysis against programmes at regular intervals with the planning manager/senior planner, and the project manager.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Considerable experience in a planning role on medium to large MEP construction projects. We would be looking for someone with experience of MEP / Building Services projects.
