Job summary

Lil Packaging Ltd, based in Huntingdon, is seeking a Planner to report to the Operations Manager. Hours are 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday, with a 30-minute lunch break.

The role offers a permanent contract with a standard UK 6-month probation and a basic salary of £32,500–£37,500 depending on experience and proven track record. Key responsibilities include maintaining OTIF performance, optimising production routing, and using the SPOCS ERP system to balance capacity and resources.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Ensure OTIF criteria are met and lead capacity planning.
• Optimise routing to minimise changeovers between sizes/styles.
• Use ERP (SPOCS) to identify constraints and balance production demands.
• Adjust machine availability with shifts and seasonality.
• Develop scheduling processes to anticipate challenges with Operations Manager.
• Provide KPI data and output reports to Operations Manager.
• Coordinate with sales and supply chain to meet delivery dates.
• Identify inaccuracies in ERP input/output and alert management.
• Chair weekly production meetings in absence of Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

• >98% OTIF led by the capacity plan
• Optimised product/machine routing to minimise make-readies between sizes/styles.
• Use ERP (SPOCS) to identify constraints in future periods; balance uneven production demands, and identify potential capacity resource constraints with manpower.
• Proactive adjustment of machine availability pending shift changes (eg. Seasonal / demand)
• Develop process to foresee challenges to scheduling with Operations Manager by tracking output
• Provide KPI data and output reports to Operations Manager such as ACTUAL vs estimated output.
• Liaise/coordinate with sales & supply chain, ensuring materials/plan satisfy delivery date
• Identify and alert Operations Manager of inaccuracies in ERP (SPOCS) input/output error.
• Chair weekly production meetings in absence of Operations Manager.
