Job summary

Carrowhugh Group Limited is seeking a strong Project Planner to support a busy civils contractor delivering infrastructure projects. You will develop and maintain complex project programmes, ensuring alignment with contractual requirements and client expectations.

You will integrate design, procurement, construction and commissioning activities, provide accurate planning data for decision-making, and deliver regular progress reports and lookaheads to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain robust project programmes using planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
• Integrate design, procurement, construction and commissioning activities into a unified delivery plan.
• Monitor progress, identify delays, and propose mitigation strategies.
• Produce programme updates, lookaheads, and performance reports for internal and client use.
• Support risk analysis, scenario modelling and recovery planning.
• Ensure compliance with contractual and client planning requirements.
• Collaborate with commercial and operational teams to align programme with cost and resource plans.
• Create baseline programmes and maintain updates throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develop detailed construction sequences and logic-linked activities.
• Integrate subcontractor and supplier programmes into the master schedule.
• Monitor progress against key milestones and critical path activities.
• Conduct delay analysis and support extension of time (EoT) claims.
• Produce short-term lookaheads and weekly planning outputs for site teams.
• Attend progress meetings and present programme updates to stakeholders.
• Support risk workshops and develop mitigation plans for programme threats.
• Coordinate with design and procurement teams to align deliverables with site needs.

Job description

Carrowhugh Group are recruiting for a strong Project Planner for a busy civils contractor specialising in infrastructure projects.

Provide project planning support to the project team, producing, monitoring and maintaining the project programmes across all phases of delivery, ensuring alignment with contractual requirements, client expectations, and operational strategy. Provide accurate planning data to support decision-making, risk mitigation, and performance reporting.

When required, to provide pre-construction input during the tender process working with the tender teams to oversee and assist in the production of pre-construction programmes as they develop into construction phase programmes.
